With California’s artificial grass rebate program $24 million in the hole, the program is on hold. Yet, NewGrass is offering rebates from July 15 until the end of the summer. It’s our effort to support the battle for water conservation in the Golden State.
So, NewGrass is offering customers an artificial grass rebate of 30 cents for every square foot of grass they replace with NewGrass. This in support of water conservation for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, and nationwide as well.
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is a consortium of 26 cities and water districts that together provide drinking water to nearly 19 million people in parts of Los Angeles, and Orange, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernadino and Ventura counties.
MWD resources for an artificial grass rebate program dried up in May. In addition, the board is turning off spending until an audit is complete. This, according to the Riverside Press-Enterprise and other media.
NewGrass, the eco-friendly synthetic grass choice, has several authorized and licensed representatives in the areas served by the MWD, including NewGrass Landscape & Design, San Diego Backyard Adventures and SmartScapes.
“We’re glad we can support customers of the MWD who are considering replacing their sod lawn with synthetic grass, many of whom may have been counting on rebates from their water district or city,” said our NewGrass President. “And we’re excited to extend the same offer to NewGrass customers everywhere.”

Furthermore, among the agencies served by the MWD, only four are still offering artificial turf rebates, and all of them are in the San Diego County Water Authority:
– Helix Water District
– Vallecitos Water District
– Santa Fe Irrigation District
– Vista Irrigation District
Customers of these districts should contact the SoCal Water$mart program for details about rebates. But they also are eligible for the NewGrass 30-cents rebate. So reach out and see what you may be missing!
